Notation - 1 is the high E string at the bottom of the guitar, 6 is the low E
0 means leave the string "open" meaning don't place a finger on that string
1 means place a finger on the first fret on that string
2 means second fret... etc.
- means don't play that string at all (when you strum TRY and start on the next string... if you miss alot that's fine)

It's 2 beats per chord, so to start play 2 strums per chord. After you get that down try throwing in an upstrum in an appropriate place.
think of a charactor as a time slot D is a down strum, U is an upstrum
so if two beats is this,
